Rant 01
OK, let’s declare the experiment over. By all appearances it has failed miserably. Our society has gone completely insane in a matter of a few decades. I think it is time to get back to the basics of the Constitution and stop all of the social engineering in our schools. I look at the headlines in news in recent months and am just shocked! Boy Scouts We have judges who say that the Boy Scouts have to allow homosexuals into their organization. Why do people have to barge their way into and upset healthy organizations such as the Boy Scouts. The last I heard, this is America and if a group of homosexuals want to start Homo Scouts of America, they are perfectly able to do it. Why do they insist on forcing their beliefs on other people? Perhaps they know their membership would be limited. Diversity The Constitution is based on individual freedoms and rights. I don’t recall it stating any thing about group rights. The current thinking of seeking special rights, not endorsed by the Constitution are tearing this country apart. Instead of unifying the nation it is tearing it apart and pitting one group against another. Minorities are given special preferential treatment in job hiring and promotion based on race. No longer can companies hire the most qualified. The makeup of organizations must represent the population. If that is true then let it be everywhere. Let’s start with basketball. The majority of players in the NBA are black. This does not reflect the ethnic composure of society. It should be forced to include more whites to keep it diverse. So what if the level of play declines. Shootings, School and Work Place. This is getting to be a real nutty country. For over two centuries American citizens have been armed and have been able to defend themselves. Guns have been prevalent and easily accessible. There has never been a rash of shootings as we have witnessed in the past few years. Guns have always been here, so what has changed? With each passing incident I do not want to take the guns away from law-abiding citizens. I feel more and more like I want to be armed in this lunatic society. In last weeks shooting in Atlanta a survivor who hid behind his desk when the gunman was shooting the place up was asked what he was thinking at the time. He replied that he wished he had a gun. The President Clinton has shamed the office of the president and hopefully his successor can restore some dignity to the Oval office. He has made a mockery of the highest office in the land. If there ever was corruption and abuse of power, he represents it dramatically.
