Providence
by Tom Buchanan

George Washington said “Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor ...”

As a nation we have traveled a great distance from this philosophy. Over the years we have drifted from a nation that relied on God for protection to the rampant government control our founders rebelled against.

We have taken God out of our schools and just about every other aspect of our lives. When our reliance was on the Almighty the United States was envy of other nations in education, productivity, and compassion. Since the phrase 'separation of church and state' was injected into the debate in 1947 by the Supreme Court we have been in a spiraling downfall of our values, as a nation, a community, families and individuals.

Any aspect of our lives that we turn over to the government only gets worse. We are on a steady course towards socialism. The main thing that must happen to allow this is apathy. Apathy is our enemy.

It is time for Christians to vote, guided by moral values.
