How much Inconvenience are You Willing to Endure?
How much Inconvenience are you willing to endure? We live the land of convenience. How much of it would you give up to enjoy true freedom? Would you do away with the withholding of your taxes and write a check a check for the amount? Would you discipline yourself enough to have the funds available when it comes time to write the check? If America were to get rid of the practice of taking your taxes before you see the money it would probably start another revolution. It appears that most Americans don't mind being robbed by the government. We have adopted the attitude of 'go ahead and take all you want, just make it convenient.' Today it is hard to pick up anything in a local department, hardware, tool or electronics store that does not have the dreaded 'Made in China' label affixed to it. Would we go through the inconvenience of paying more for something if it is made in the good old USA? Would we willing to stop the influx of goods produced in a Communist country and forego the cheap prices and quality? Probably not. We would rather give our money along with our freedom to a country that will use the profits from its sales to bolster its military which it will use against us, probably sooner than we think. The Communist Chinese are not our friends, They want to destroy us, and we are more than happy to fund them in their efforts. The ultimate convenience is the practice of abortion. Yes, it is the defining element in creating a society based on convenience. Why a child requires sacrifice and dedication and that would not be too convenient. So we, as a society have opted to ensure that no one has to be bothered with an unwanted, or unexpected baby. we justify killing the child so that we are not inconvenienced. Yes freedom and liberty demand vigilance and action to ensure survival. It is rather inconvenient at times, but the reward of freedom far surpasses anything that servitude to an oppressive government has to offer. Yes we have grown into a society of limp lifeless individuals who desire for liberty has atrophied from the lack of exercise when it comes to our rights. We are content to let them all be taken away because it would be too inconvenient to stand up and fight for them. We crawl under our rocks for fear that we might offend someone and be charged with a hate crime. It appears that it is much more convenient to keep our mouths and minds shut than to expose an opinion that is not popular with the politically correct crowd. Look around you at the people that you work with or your immediate neighbors. How many of them can you count on if the going gets tough? How many will be a burden to maintaining liberty? How many do you suppose will get in the cattle cars and go quietly for the last ride because it would be too inconvenient to take a stand for freedom? We will get what we deserve!
