Fat Free, The Demonizing of Individual Liberty
Attention portly people, fat folks and anyone else who enjoys choosing the kind of food you like to eat. A recent UCLA/RAND report finds being fat is riskier than using tobacco or drinking. You are the next group of people to be villianized by the press, your neighbors, coworkers and most importantly your government. Welcome to the imposition. Join the crowd. The political correct attitude of the left will no longer be in your favor. No longer will you be able to cry fowl because your being over weight is not understood. You will no longer be allowed the luxury of saying it is not your fault you are fat. Just like the groups that have gone before you, accused of villainous behavior, you too will know how it feels. The drinkers, druggers, smokers, gun owners, SUV owners, Christians, Jews, Muslims, red meat eaters and land owners all welcome the fat folks to the inner circle of banned behavior. You will now be singled out and probably cry foul because the government has no right to take away your God given inalienable right to pig out at your favorite all-you-can-eat restaurant. It wasn’t so long ago that you were given the false sense of superiority because you weren't a smoker. Smokers were after all mean, vile people who cared not for what their habit cost society. Secondhand smoke was going to kill us all, physically and financially. I’m sure the memories of smirking at the smokers huddled outside in all kinds of weather will haunt your uncaring conscience as you sneak off to enjoy that Twinkie or bag of chips. You may have to resort to closing your drapes so that no one will know that you defy the will of the people by eating what ever they decide is unhealthy. Get used to the fact that the champions of political correctness and zero tolerance will glare at you with disdain whenever you choose to light up that super-sized order of french fries. We started down this slippery slope when government decided to get involved in heath care. Yes, Medicare, Medicaid and any other program where the proverbial government camel stuck its nose inside the tent gave validation to say that since tax dollars were used by these government programs, all Americans were footing the bill. And since then, anything that was not pro health was costing every tax payer. The tyrants in Washington will not pass a law outlawing bad behavior, they will do it by intimidation. You will be demonized, vilified and classified as yet another menace to society. Shame on us all! What is really going on here is control of the people through cooperation of public/private organizations. We get divided into groups so that we can be intimidated by everyone that does not fit into our little group. What do you think would happen if congress passed a total health bill that outlawed anything that would be harmful or burden the government run health care system? Imagine a single bill that forbid eating the wrong food, or the use of tobacco or alcohol, or firearms. Why the people would be in an uproar! No body would stand for it. There would be a revolution of mass proportions. The forces that be are much smarter, however. They will take away our freedom, one step at a time by demonizing behavior. Whatever ‘bad habit’ you choose will probably not be enjoyed by the majority so it will be safe to villianize you into submission. It is after all ‘for the children’. The demonization is not limited to health issues. Everyone will get their turn in the spotlight. We will all get to be the scourge of society because there is someone out there that does not agree with the lifestyle you choose to lead. We have witnessed a revival in persecution of the values of Christianity by a secular movement. Remember, it was one atheist who started the movement to rid our nation’s schools of the nasty God influence on our children. Lest we forget the assault on those who choose to drive SUVs. Sometimes it is subtle. It seems as though every time an SUV is involved in a traffic accident the headline in the local paper must vilify the driver by including SUV in the headline. I never seem to notice that when the accident involves a fatality because the car was a compact gas saver the type of vehicle makes the headline. The freedoms that we used to enjoy under the former Constitution of the United States are becoming but sweet memories of a society that used to be. Perhaps we should all cry out for more tyranny, enough so that it touches everyone’s life. Let’s get it over with. Let’s gore everyone’s ox at once. Yes, America only wants healthy, nonalcoholic, smoke free, unarmed, vegetarian sheeple who will not question their loss of freedom to pursue happiness. We want a society, in the same mindset as Hitler’s master race. You will conform and cast away all of bad habits or else. The ultimate scourge to society is a potbellied, cigarette smoking, beer drinking, gun owning, red meat eating, Christian white male driving a sport utility vehicle on his way to his next hunting trip or NRA convention.
